new thing
Occasionally I’m going to rec some fic I”ve come across. (Mostly on Livejournal: I’m sure there are other places, but I don”t know what other sites there are and I’m askeered of Fanfic.net.) These will be little posts (called “asides” in the lingo) under the “recs” category, and I”ll include the pertinent information: rating, fandom, pairing, summary, link, and author.
I will admit to not being the best rec’er ever: my recommendations tend to dwindle to, “I really liked it.” (Sad for an ex-English major, I know.) So I’m not going to go into why I liked a particular story most of the time. Just, y”know, that I did, and you might too.
Yay attempting to spread the love

Thank you to
skidmo for beta and
jhava for art.
Summary: Seeing Gwen experience it for the first time took me right back to when I first heard that terrible scream. After Gwen had gone home, I just held on to Ianto for a couple of hours, as tightly as I could.

prompt me!
Saturday is my birthday (this is not a hint, it’s just a fact) and
lucyjanesparlor topped 180 watchers while I wasn’t looking. These in combination make me want to do requests.
So let’s play a drabble game. You prompt me with a pairing and no more than three (3) elements, and I’ll pick . . . let’s say three, to do over the weekend. (Maybe more, if inspiration is with me.)
BTW, whenever I do one of these people apologize for requesting Jack/Ianto. There’s no need to apologize: you love Jack/Ianto, I love Jack/Ianto, we all love Jack/Ianto together.

(Now I’m going to go jump up and down for a bit.)
awww
more not-fic
announcement!
Whenever I write an announcement I’m taken back to the girls’ camp of my youth and how we’d greet any announcement with a little song: “You talk too much! You worry my head! You talk too much! You talk, talk, talk toooooo much!”
Anyway. Late last week I made some changes to my webhost: namely, I changed to a new one, and bought a new domain name that, the very least, should be easier to remember than quixoticquest.com. All my fic from
lucyjanesparlor is now mirrored at misslucyjane.com. (Older fic, I haven’t made up my mind about yet.)
I’m still working on rebuilding all the tags (unfortunately, the import file was too big to actually import, so I had to find a workaround involving LJ Archive) and installing plugins, so any fic posted for the next while will probably go here first and be added there later.
While I’m announcing things,
lucyjanesparlor currently has 105 members and 172 watchers. I’m thinkin’ when it hits 175 watchers we should do something to celebrate. Not sure what yet, though, and I will accept suggestions.
And since I’m in an announce-y mood, you know that professional writing that I keep doing instead of fic? I have a novella coming out on April 16th called The King’s Diamond. I’ll have more information about that next week.
