In this follow up to Jenna Jones’ popular novel Chiaroscuro, Dune Bellamy and Micah Ferguson have become best friends. Between Micah’s string of boyfriends and Dune’s lovers, they have plenty to talk about, especially when a trip to Europe leaves Micah alone, while back home, Dune’s first love turns up again.
After a brief fling in Paris, Micah returns home to an unhappy Dune, who’s trying to fend off his ex’s attentions. When Micah steps in, Dune starts to see his friend as something more, which creates a whole new set of problems. Dune’s not sure he wants to ruin their friendship, but he and Micah agree to give it a try.
Micah has family problems to deal with, Dune has his ex stalking him, and the pressure soon comes between them, driving Dune back into the arms of the dangerous Gavin, who wants to control his every move. Can Micah deal with his sisters, and find a way to convince Dune that they deserve another chance? Something Beautiful is all about the family we chose, as well as the one we’re born with, and if they’re lucky, something beautiful will come of it for Micah and Dune.

I like t-shirts, and I’ve been wanting to do some book-related t-shirts for a while. But I’ve wanted to so something a little . . . off the beaten path, maybe?
Those of you who’ve read Chiaroscuro know a lot of the action takes place in the Gallagher family bakery, so the plan is to make some schwag with a Gallaghers’ Bakery logo: at the very least a barbecue apron, mostly because it both amuses me and feels very appropriate.
I’m still playing with designs, and a few of my ideas are below the cut. Click on the thumbnail to see the design in full. I plan to have the store open by the time Something Beautiful comes out on the 25th.

The Zombie Radio Project is an original radio drama based on the premise that a zombie apocalypse has happened, and now those not necessarily prepared for survival must do exactly that. This is a drama and character study, not a zombie hunter adventure.There are 3 acts in the play, each one expanding focus from surviving in the domestic United States to the ramifications of total world government collapse. This is an international and multi-ethnic project with 40 different characters from around the world. There are Cold War vs. New Globalization politics, spy networks, international conspiracies, and the new question in our society ‘what do you do without the internet?’.
We are currently looking for actors, PR personal, writers, sound editors, foley artists, composers, musical performers. In short, we’re looking for EVERYONE.

Occasionally I’m going to rec some fic I”ve come across. (Mostly on Livejournal: I’m sure there are other places, but I don”t know what other sites there are and I’m askeered of Fanfic.net.) These will be little posts (called “asides” in the lingo) under the “recs” category, and I”ll include the pertinent information: rating, fandom, pairing, summary, link, and author.
I will admit to not being the best rec’er ever: my recommendations tend to dwindle to, “I really liked it.” (Sad for an ex-English major, I know.) So I’m not going to go into why I liked a particular story most of the time. Just, y”know, that I did, and you might too.
